The above was with Windows 7, I've just fired up by linux netbook Firefox 3.6.23 and 2.0.14 installed with no problems and is working fine.

On restarting the Windows version it didn't take me through the registration screen, so that's probably the problem - is there a way to force it to do so?

Hi vectistim,

I think you may have the same Firefox update issue as tommyturnip.

A few questions;
* After upgrading and Firefox restarting, did you see the upgrade wizard and where you able to complete it? - NO
* Were there any error messages?
* What other firefox add-ons you have installed?

The the moment, my best guess is the steps mentioned at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_ ... sion_files may be a possible fix (I've had similar problems in the past, albeit with older versions of Firefox).

If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll post some more ideas.

That's sorted it out thank you - to start with I was looking in the wrong place for the extensions.* files but found the right place using the Everything search prog.

Interesting request... as originally when I prototyped the graph the y-axis was zero based (thats my personal prefered option) but then decided "big and bold" was good.

Not promising a change in the immediate future, but the direction I'm steering PB in is more towards the user interacting with the "widget" within the webpage.

At the moment this just means "tabbing" between views like history and the price graph, but eventually I hope that some configuration options (like zeroed y-axis, what colours are used for the history, which bits of data are displayed can all be configured via the "widget" itself.

Thanks ABN, that sort of ties up with my hunch... tho compact database had a bigger impact than I was expecting!

Sorry, mistyped the link in my original response (now corrected)... its Install 2.0.14.1

Thats strange! I've just done a quick test with both Firefox 5.0 and 3.5.19 (the oldest version PB supports) and both seem ok on using Windows 7 (64bit).

A few questions;
* After upgrading and Firefox restarting, did you see the upgrade wizard and where you able to complete it?
* Were there any error messages?
* What other firefox add-ons you have installed?

I'm not sure of the cause but a few ideas to try;
* I would be tempted to say update to the latest Firefox, however my gut feeling is this may not fix the issue.
* One issue I have seen in the past is Firefox corrupting the files it uses to store information about the extensions it has, which means updating add-ons doesn't work correctly. See here on how to fix this - I think this is worth trying

If none of the above help, can you do the following please;
* Exit Firefox
* Go to your Firefox Profile folder (see http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles)
* Find the file called 'property-bee.sqlite'
* Email this file to admin <at> Property - Bee <dot> com.

If you do this, I can run PB with your config/property history/account and investigate further to see whats happening.

I am on win7 x64 so a similar setup.
The wizard came up but skipped to the last step (expected behaviour I imagine).
No errors were displayed.
I'm glad to say that your gut feeling was wrong as upgrading FF to v9 fixed the issue and I can now use the new buttons (graph etc).
The only reason I was sticking with FF5 was that some add-ons were not compatible, this issue prompted me to re-check and found that all is okay except my Kaspersky Integration but I'll live with that.

Same set up as me... so I knew it worked!

Yup, for an upgrade the wizard appears, click next then finish.. and all is done.

I stand corrected, perhaps updating from FF5 to FF9 forces an update of the extension.* files I mentioned eariler, either way I'm glad its now sorted!

I'm off to have tea (at 00:30 :shock:) and get some sleep...

ABN if you're still around, please post your findings with 2.0.14.1... I'll read them in the morning, and but fingers crossed I think it should solve your problem.

using 14.1
Search used for first set of tests
Remove old tabs: 0mS
Get information from webpage: 291mS
Merge with data from local database: 24mS
Insert preview: 28mS
Encrypt changes: 5mS
Send changes to server: 2mS
Time taken for server to respond: 109mS
Server script time: 2mS
Merge changes from server: 1mS
Update notifications: 0mS
Save changes to database: 321mS
Output changes to webpage: 0mS
Total time: 782mS

search used for last test
Remove old tabs: 0mS
Get information from webpage: 321mS
Merge with data from local database: 16mS
Insert preview: 21mS
Encrypt changes: 6mS
Send changes to server: 1mS
Time taken for server to respond: 1068mS
Server script time: 946mS
Merge changes from server: 4mS
Update notifications: 0mS
Save changes to database: 762mS
Output changes to webpage: 51mS
Total time: 2250mS

So 14.1 seems much quicker than 14.0 but perhaps still a little slower than I remember it being before the change.

Many thanks for all the work yu do on this :)

Current performnace after compacting is:
Get information from webpage: 423mS
Merge with data from local database: 44mS
Save changes to database: 78mS
Output changes to webpage: 9745mS
Total time: 10290mS

Before compacting it was about 11,700mS total (I orginally estimated 12s) so compactying has made a bit of a difference but not much.

After defrag no discernable difference.

So I'll try the 2.0.14.1 now

Thanks

OK Just tried 2.0.14.1 and it down to 0.4 and 1.2 s per page. Much better thank you.

Thanks ABN, that looks like it sorted you out.

The times are very dependent on what properties are being looked at (ie number of properties on the page, whether you've looked at them in the past, whats been cached in memory etc etc), and under 3 s for the lot is reasonable.

Altho you get a preview of the history appearing 350-360mS after the page load, I guess I could swap round the final output to the webpage and the write to the database - that would appear to make it quicker (by 321-762mS)
